It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Johnson of Sontag, Mississippi, who passed away on September 6, 2022, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Johnson and Ethel Douglas Johnson; his wife Frances Johnson; his sons, Mac "BoBo" Johnson and Nelson Johnson; his grandsons, Mitchell Hardy and Joseph Florence; and his siblings, Roy, Dennis of Paul, J. K., Mac Johnson, Holline Mount, Ernestine Castilow and Stella Mae Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Chuck Johnson (Wanda) of Sontag, Kathy Bowman (Bull) of Sontag, Francine Hodges (Bowen) of Loyd Star, MS and Tammy Smith (Larry) of Sontag; his grandchildren, Shana Kimble (Steven), Trent Hodges, Josh "Opie" Johnson (Sawyer), Jacob Johnson, Kenneth Nelson Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Zach Johnson (Tara), Nikki, Smith (Cole), Chad Johnson (Carly) and Trevor "T. T." Bowman; his great grandchildren, Finley, Emersyn, Lucy, Dylanee, Karalee, Tara, Truett, Kynslee, Addi, Lane and Paxton; and his siblings, Franklin Johnson, Bliss Johnson, Walter Johnson (Theresia), Alvin Johnson and Ernestine LeFleur.
