He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shelby Lindsey and Retha Mae Ross Lindsey; his siblings, Judy Sims and Jimmy Lindsey; and his parents-in-law, Roland Ausborn and Emma Lou Ausborn.

He is survived by: his children, Tracy Bowen (Donnie) and Steve Lindsey (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Brooke Weaver (Wilson), Blake Bowen (Marti) and Alexa Taylor (Terry); his great grandchildren, Mary Claire, Eleanor, Cora Mae Weaver, Maysah, Emmalou, Gage Bowen and Rason Taylor; his sister Shelby Mitchell (Ralph) of Smithville; his sister-in-law Irene Ausborn of Fulton; and his pet Guru. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and his constant companion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
