He was predeceased by: his parents, Estios Avery and Bertha Crowe Avery; his daughter Rhonda Avery; his grandson Robert Luke Avery; and his sisters, Ila Mae Clement, Francis Hollis, Wilma McCarley and Eanon Raye Thurman.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Avery of Smtihville; his sons, Jimmy Avery of Smithville and Kenny Avery (Katherine) of Smithville; his siblings, Chester Avery of Smithville, Marie Bishop (Wayne) of Hackelburg and Joyce Driver (Vertis) of Muscle Shoals; and his grandchildren, Jamie Avery, Jennie Avery and Jonah Avery. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
