It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Evelyn Burns of Sidon, Mississippi, born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, who passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Robert Patterson; her stepfather J. B. Patterson; her son James DeFreese; her granddaughter Katie Leigh Anne Hill; and her great grandchild Lakavion Coffer.
She is survived by: her husband James N. Burns of Sidon, MS; her daughters, Patricia Redd of Sidon, MS and Sherri Redd; and her siblings, Bruce Patterson (Brenda) of Leland, MS, Mike Patterson (Faith) of Oak Grove, LA, Regina Scott of Coila, MS and Karen Bennett (Lonnie) of Oak Grove, LA.
