He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vassar Teal, Sr. and Annie Mae Presson Teal; and his sisters, Wilna King, Hazel Moss, Carolyn Teal and Alice Teal.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Teal of Sidon, MS; his children, Dena McDonald (Brian) of Madison, MS, Darnell Perkins (Brad) of Carrollton, MS and John David Teal, Jr. (Starr) of Carrollton, MS; and his sisters, Eleanor Nelson of Thaxton, MS and May Sykes of Greenwood, MS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Phillipston Baptist Church, 206 CR 364, Sidon, MS 38954.
