He was predeceased by: his father Robert Lee Tate, Sr.; his former wife Bonnie Walker Tate; and his siblings, Albert Watson Tate, Robert Lee Tate, Jr., Elizabeth Tate Perry, Irene Tate Baugus and Margie Tate Galey.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Holeman Tate of Sidon, MS; his daughters, Susanne Tate of Lowell, AR and Stephanie Tate of Greenwood, MS; his granddaughter Jodie Lynn Logan (Bishop) of Greenwood, MS; his stepchildren, Deadra Browning (William) of Winnsboro, LA and Callaway Harris (Pam) of Carrollton, MS; his stepgrandchildren, Carol Harris, Morgan Alford and Dustin Harris; his nephews, Jerry Galey, Bob Tate, Michael Galey, Matthew Galey, Brad Galey, Colby Galey and Jason Galey; and his niece Jennifer Marshall. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren.
