He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Cockrell and Bessie Mae Boykin; his wife Sherlene Boykin; and his brothers, Earl Boykin, William Gray Boykin and Charlie Boykin, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Sherrie Eaves (Phillip) of Macon, MS, Sandy Eaves (Allen) of Preston, MS and Bill Boykin (Angie) of Preston, MS; and his siblings, Jo Ladner (Sonny) of Gulf Shores, AL, Mary Lou Morton of Starkville, MS and Jessie Boykin (Lovie Mae) of Pascagoula, MS. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
