She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Higginbotham and Flora G. Butler Higginbotham; her husband Robert Vernon; her son Gary Eaves; and her brothers, Lamar Higginbotham and Gilbert Higginbotham.
She is survived by: her daughter Rita Jones (Willis) of Shuqualak, MS; her brother Reginald Higginbotham (Betty) of Shuqualak, MS; her grandchildren, Bill, Jennifer, Amy and Wayne; her great grandchildren, Daryl, Justin, Bailey, Anna Claire, Summer, Casey, Brianna, Kayla and Nyla; and her great great grandchildren, Slade and Kyleighe Ray.
