With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher Newman of Shuqualak, Mississippi, born in Amory, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2024. He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Bobby Presley and Robert VanDevender; his uncles, Ralph Taylor and Mark Marro; and his cousin J. C. Weaver.

He is survived by: his mothers, Sheila VanDevender and Tia Newman; his siblings, Cole, Erin Newman, Jack, Sarah Helen VanDevender and Elizabeth VanDevender; his nephew Dean Christopher Newman; his grandparents, Bobby Joe, Nancy Weaver, Janie Fay VanDevender, Owel and Carol Newman; his aunts and uncles, John (Pam Norris), Jean Taylor, Joy Marro, Bob (Lisa Weaver), Jim (Kathy Bradford), Marvin (Holly Wiggins) and Bobby VanDevender; and his cousins, Sarah Norris, Wyatt Norris, Lonnie Taylor, Justin Marro, Ziggy Marro, Matthew, Charis Wiggins, Jonathan Wiggins and Janie Wiggins.
