It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlie Brooks Higginbotham Jr. (Shuqualak, Mississippi), who passed away on May 6, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Brooks, Sr. and Earnestine Coleman Higginbotham; and his siblings, Joseph Ronald Higginbotham and Thelma "Lou" Hannah (Tom). He is survived by: his brother Richard Proffitt; his wife Merl Higginbotham of Shuqualak; his children, Kendrick Higginbotham Adams (Erik) of Mathiston and Tyler Higginbotham (Amy) of Starkville; his grandchildren, Katie Rose Ricks (Casey) of Starkville, Maridee Moreland Robertson (Stephen) of Flowood, Chaffin Elijah Upchurch of Starkville, Sadie Sanders Higginbotham of Starkville, Isaac Holman Adams of Mathiston, William Walton Adams of Mathiston and Sutton Dane Adams of Mathiston; his great grandchildren, Anna Tyler of Starkville and Butler Ricks of Starkville; and his sisters, Carolyn Jones (Junior) of Shuqualak and Cindy Skipper (Ralph) of Shuqualak. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Due to current COVID 19 guidelines and for the health concerns of family and friends, a private family graveside service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2020, from Butler Cemetery near Shuqualak with Reverend Don Tew officiating.
