He was predeceased by: his parents, O. B. Watkins and Clystia Watkins; his siblings, Harvey, Troy and Nancy Perry; and his son Howard O'Neal Watkins.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Watkins; his daughter Judy Blunt (Mike); his grandsons, Kerry Watkins (Brandi) and Blake Watkins; and his great grandchild Walker O'Neal Watkins.
