He was predeceased by: his parents, James Charles O'Neal, II and Lucille Burk O'Neal; his siblings, Pat O'Neal Redditt and James Charles O'Neal, III; his daughter Mary Laurie O'Neal; and his granddaughter Turner Loraine Morrison.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Turner O'Neal of Cleveland; his daughters, Dana O'Neal Spector (Alan) of Monroe, GA and Kim O'Neal Morrison of Cleveland; and his granddaughter Morgan Neill Morrison of Cleveland.
