He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Welch and Virginia Smith Welch; and his brother Kenneth Welch. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughters, Jennifer Coleman (James), Lindsay Hall (Steven) of Mt and Orab; his sister Susan McPhail (Rick); and his grandchildren, Zachary Coleman, Charles Coleman and Juliana Hall.
