With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Simmons Sr. of Shannon, Mississippi, born in Tupelo, Mississippi, who passed away on May 8, 2021 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father George Ward Simmons; his sister Wanda Hughes; and his daughter Jennifer Lynn Simmons. He is survived by: his mother Reba Simmons of Tupelo; his wife Linda Simmons of Shannon; his son James Ward Simmons, Jr. (April) of Tupelo; and his siblings, Carolyn Wiggs of Tupelo and Johnny Simmons (Tammy) of Tupelo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
