He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Oren Gober and Ernal Louis Winters; and his brother Thomas "Andy" Reece. He is survived by: his wife Connie Kay Gober of Shannon; his children, Edward Mitchell Gober of New Mexico, Issac Samuel Gober of Shannon and Mechele Wells of Vermillion, Ohio; his grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew Gober, Leo Chandler and Kaylee Wells; his great grandchildren, Kira Eck, Emerald Perry and Leo Mitchell, II; and his siblings, Shelby Darlington (Bill) of Shannon, Elizabeth Isom of Shannon, Susan Cannon of Tupelo, Nita Megginson of Blue Springs, Dennis Ray Gober (Linda) of Pontotoc, John Reece (Kim) of Belden and Melvin Keith Reece (Kathy) of Belden. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
