She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Brooks and R. L. Brooks; her husband Gary Newton of Senatobia, MS; her siblings, Riley Brooks and Carolyn Sue Armstrong (Jerry); and her brother-in-law Melvin Ray.
She is survived by: her daughter Amy Brooks Newton Steinburg (Erza); and her grandchildren, April Lavorn, Shannon Lavorn, Nathaniel Lavorn and Christopher Lavorn.
A memorial service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (317 S Ward St, Senatobia, MS 38668).
