He is survived by: his children, Darnell Gressett (Chris), Charlie Mooney (Jamie) and Joe Mooney (Magen); his grandchildren, Brandon McMellon, Kaitlyn Gressett, Dryden Mooney, Chloe Mooney, Braden Mooney, Paige Mooney, Dacy Mooney, Karleigh Mooney and Wyatt Mooney; his great grandchildren, Olivia Steele, Halie McMellon and Shaeleigh McMellon; and his siblings, Ann Cagle (Walter), John'Otis' Mooney (Nadine) and Betty Lou Russell (Howard).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (202 Summitt Dr, Sanford, NC 27330).
