He was predeceased by: his wife Faye Ivy Gardner; his son Bruce Black; his son-in-law Robert S. Wall, Jr.; his parents, Sam Gardner and Dollie Harrell Gardner; and his sister Claudie Tadlock.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dollie Stagner of Flora and Sandra Wall of Forest; and his brothers, Walter Amis Gardner and Robert Baker Gardner (Linda). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
