He was predeceased by: his siblings, JoAnn Armstrong and Jim Wiley Armstrong, Sr.; and his parents, Jack R. O. Armstrong and Bertha Moore. He is survived by: his wife Janell Armstrong; his children, Jack Armstrong III (Vonda) of Ellisville, MS. and Russell Armstrong (Julie) of Pisgah, MS; his sister Mickey Zane Miles of Morton, MS; and his grandchildren, Abbey Noel Armstrong and Russell Jay Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
