She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Burks and Estelle Persons Burks; her son Robert "Bob" Briggs; and her husband Allen "Gene" Watts. She is survived by: her former spouse Grace Withers Briggs; her granddaughter Katie; her son Eddie Briggs (Becky); her grandchildren, Gerad Briggs (Christina), Katherine Collier, Polly Briggs, Sunny Briggs and Amber Briggs; and her great grandchildren, Crockett Collier, Carley Pugh, Hallie Pugh, Easton Briggs and Rosemary Gercken.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Scooba United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
