He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Grimsley and Levera Patrick Grimsley; and his siblings, Molly Bounds Winchester, Edna Grimsley Frazier, Joseph Franklin Bounds and David Allen Grimsley.

He is survived by: his sister Bonnie Grimsley Patrick of Cherokee Village, AR. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
