He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McCain and Martha McCain; his sister Patricia Ann McCain; his daughters, Andrea Romeis and Sherri Goings; his grandson Alan Goings; and his great grandchild Priscilla Carpenter.

He is survived by: his wife Sue McCain; his children, Carla McCain and Brett McCain (John Bearden); his siblings, Brenda Martin, Charles Edward McCain (Norma Jean) and Jim McCain; and his grandchildren, Corey McCain (Paige), Joshua Stafford (Brandie), Jordan Stafford (Ashley Fox), Jonathan Stafford, Nina Carpenter (Clint), Laken Goings and Alyssa Causby (Kevin).
