It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Smith (Saltillo, Mississippi), born in Aberdeen, Mississippi, who passed away on May 25, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Smith and Amorie Robertson Smith; his brother Glenn Smith; and his great-nephew Tyler Steven Green. He is survived by: his son Ben Smith (Melissa) of Horn Lake, MS; his sisters, Rose Nichols (Kenneth) of Houston, Rebecca Scott (Thomas) and Mary Pierce (David) of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Abigail Hickerson (Eli), Gabe Smith and Sydney Smith; and his close friend James Hardy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital.
