He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Russell and Jessie Frederick Russell; his wife Barbara Russell; his stepmother Flo Dell Russell; and his siblings, Carolyn Webb and Anthony Russell.

He is survived by: his daughter Jessica Townsend (Richard) of Saltillo; his grandchildren, Carson of Saltillo, Maisy of Saltillo, Delaney of Saltillo and Dylan Townsend of Saltillo; his stepson Jimmy Henderson (Rebekah) of Alabama; and his siblings, Brenda Kipper (Bill) of Aura, Betty Houston of Saltillo, Shirley Sanders of Saltillo and Kenneth Russell of Mantachie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
