He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Coker and Ailene Coker; his wife Dorothy; his son Len Coker; his sons-in-law, James Edwin Erwin and Danny Mears; and his siblings, Rebecca Hill, Lamar, Wilburn, Leon, Homer and Roy.

He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Mears of Saltillo, Judy Erwin of Saltillo and Phyllis Blanton (Mart) of Saltillo; his grandchildren, Randy Mears (Wanda), Tracy Mears, Linda Brown (Darin), Kathy Lansdell (Avery) and Ryan Blanton; and his siblings, Mildred Pannell of Okolona, Melvin Coker of Shannon, Paul Coker of Tupelo and Dean Coker of Belden. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.

A hard worker with a strong work ethic, he continued his career with the Community Development Foundation, ensuring house numbers were placed correctly.
