He is survived by: his wife Ruth Williams Rutland; his daughters, Patricia Rutland Smith (Roy), Pamela Rutland Hudson (Wendell) and Brenda Rutland Smith (George); his sister Barbara Dell Rutland Adair (Don); his sister-in-law Vivian Rutland; his brother David; his sister-in-law Polly Carter; his grandchildren, Benjamin Smith, Justin Smith, Courtney Smith Longnecker, Joshua Smith, Emily Smith, Gary Hudson, Lisa Hudson Wilbourne and Daniel Smith; and his great grandchildren, Colton Smith, Liam Smith, Gauge Smith, Eastlyn Longnecker, Oliver Smith, Wilson Smith, Rhye Longnecker and Wesley Wilbourne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
