He is survived by: his wife Vernell Huffman Townsend of Ruleville, MS; his children, Sandra Vines (Robert) of Merigold, MS and David Wayne Townsend of Merigold, MS; his stepchildren, Nell Barnett of Drew, MS, Preston Bowling (Carol) of Greenville, MS and Jimmy Bowling (Brenda) of Scobey, MS; and his siblings, Jimmy Townsend of Drew, MS, Dorothy Leach of Indianola, MS, Helen Kunefke (Wade) of Sour Lake, TX and Linda Weeks of Minter City, MS. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
