He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston and Carthage of Mississippi; his brothers, Bernell Barnes and Norman Barnes; and his stepdaughter Carolyn Welshans of Rosedale.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Wilfling of Colorado Springs and Julie Brown (Mike) of Greenville, Mississippi.; his wife Gladys Welshans of Rosedale; his stepson Al Welshans (Suzanne) of Hernando; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hammons (Josh) of Senatobia, MS, Ashley Stogner (Shane) of Colorado Springs, CO and Marcus Schlansker (Lauren) of Seattle Washington; and his stepgrandson Michael Brown (Claudia) of Crestview Florida. He is also survived by three step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.
