He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Varner and Gertie Varner Lewis (Scott); his stepfather Lamar Lewis; and his brothers, Joe Varner and Gary Varner.
He is survived by: his siblings, Clara Campbell (John) and James Varner (Debbie).
