He was predeceased by: his brother James G. "Mike" Collins; his wife Florine Kirby Collins; his parents, Thomas Jefferson Collins and Opal Johnson Collins; and his siblings, James Gray Collins (Mike) and Martha Ann Hiter.
He is survived by: his sister Janice Collins Wyatt (Kent) of Cleveland, MS; his sister-in-law Polly Collins of Rolling Fork, MS; and his children, Don Haskell "Donnie" Collins, Jr. (Phyllis) of Madison, MS, Cissy Collins Smith (Johnny) of Rolling Fork, MS, Judy Collins Gill (John) of Sumrall, MS and Brenda Collins Lowery (Lance) of Raleigh, MS. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
