It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Jean McCown Morton (Ripley, Mississippi), who passed away on August 19, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis McCown and Ruby McCown; and her sisters, Dorothy Jones, Marie Huddleston and Mary Grace Childers.

She is survived by: her children, Billy Ray Morton (Regina), Keith Morton (Beth), Annette James (Ricky) and Susan Smith (Kyle); and her sisters, Bonnie Gibson and Patsy Heavener. She is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
