She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Richard Cox and Laddie Cox Johnson (Maxwell); her children, Opal Lubin DeJean and Randy Brooks; her siblings, Willie, Jimmy, William Cox, Leoper Jeans and Sheryl Mullins; and her daughter-in-law Brenda Brooks.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Brooks, Robert Brooks, Charlene Brooks, Norlene Green, Christopher Brooks (Gloria), Tracy Brooks (Cotina), Stacy (Lanedra), Shelia Brooks and Jennifer Brooks; and her close friend Arquilla Thomas.
