He was predeceased by: his father Curtis Hill (Ettie Nell Flatt Hill); his son Ty Drown; his brothers, Paul Earl Hill and James Sydney Hill; and his sister-in-law Betty June Thompson Hill.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Drown Hill; his children, Sandra Johnson, Rebecca Maino and Gary Gannon (Tamara); his siblings, Betty Wigginton (James), Helen Easly, Jeanette Burgess, Shirley Moore, Evelyn Jean Wooten (David), Ella Mae Hill (Larry Martin), Patsy Kumar (Vinod), Roth Lee Hill (Patricia), Charles Ray Hill (Jinnie) and J. T. Hill (Ruth); and his grandchildren, Kimberly Gannon (Danny Cepeda), Thomas Gannon (Megan), Tashuna Johnson Kennedy (Johnathon) and Ian Maino. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
