He was predeceased by: his wife Merlene (Tremont); his father Robert Gife "Bob" Young; and his grandson Derrick Glass. He is survived by: his mother Zilpha Reaves Young Davis; his children, Gina Gates (Jerry) of Ripley, Rhonda Glass of Ripley, Scott Young of Katy, TX, Candice Sharp of Ripley and Janet Young of Arkansas; his brothers, Cecil Young (Ginger) of Michigan, Floyd Young (Dian) of Michigan, Matt Young (Debbie) of Michigan and Wade Young of Ripley; and his stepsiblings, Mark Young, Christie Young and Adam Young. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
