He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis Pannell and Doris "Brown" Pannell; his daughters, Leanne Mae Green Pannell and Jennifer Callahan; his stepson Josh Sorrels; his stepson-in-law Jeff Flowers; and his brother-in-law Johnny Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Stroupe Pannell of Tupelo, MS; his children, James D. "Jamie" Pannell of San Francisco, CA, Warren A. Pannell of Blue Springs, MS and Amanda E. Pannell of Olive Branch, MS; his daughter-in-law Angeles Pannell of Tupelo, MS; his stepdaughter Tren Depoy (Bill) of Hillsboro, TX; his granddaughter Melanie Bast (Mike) of Hernando, MS; his stepsons, Will Sorrels (Jennifer) of Lavon, TX and Sam Sorrels of Tupelo, MS; his siblings, Bob Pannell (Carol) of Tallahassee, FL and Sherri Brye Harper (Bruce) of Key West, FL; his stepsons-in-law, Lino Chue of San Francisco, CA and William Anderson of Pontotoc, MS; his sister-in-law Shelia Johnson of Jumpertown, MS; his grandchildren, Kaiden O'Bannon and Leanne Pannell of Arthur James; and his stepgrandchildren, Kathryn Manus (Clint), Kindall Bast, Kimberly Dawson (Jeremy), Emma Burnett (Edward), Alex Sorrels Foley, Billy Sorrels (Mikayla), Landon Sorrels, Will Anderson (Lanie), Sarah (Justin) of Washington, Hannah Harris (Tyler), Audrey Depoy, Caleb Depoy, Talley Flowers, Madison Depoy (Charles), Liam Flowers, Rafe Flowers, Colton Depoy and Zeva Sorrels. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
