He is survived by: his children, David Carter (Becky) of Ripley, MS, Glen Carter (Lisa) of Tiplersville, MS and Dana McCormick (Ray) of Essex, MO; his sisters, Sylvia Barkley (Robert) of Ripley, MS and Jane Rowland (Pete) of Bolivar, TN; his sister-in-law Sue Carter (Donald) of Ripley, TN; and his grandchildren, Maria Carter of Kossuth, MS, Julie Davis (Russell) of Ripley, MS, Brigitte Andree of Oklahoma City, William Andree of Kansas City, MO, Lindsay Cox (Sean) of Beaver, PA and Paige Rodriguez (Ryan) of Sikeston, MO. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
