It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorthy Carter McLemore (Ripley, Mississippi), who passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Marvin and Jo Ellen Carmichael Carter; her stepdaughter Lisa McLemore; and her siblings, Rachel Graddy, Nancy Dale and Warren Gilfoy Carter.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa White; her friend Dorthy Lee "Dot" Carter McLemore; her husband J. T. The; her grandchildren, Gunnar White (Shelby) and Harley White (Libby); her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Caroline White; and her sisters, Joann Ohler, Mona Griffin, Pat Mahaffey (Steve) and Jackie Gates (Cecil).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Email. A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. Many flowers he bought and carried, meals taken to her, and even during Covid, in the rain he stood, so he could talk to her through the window and hold her hand.
