It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Markim Burnett of Ripley, Mississippi, born in Three Rivers, Michigan, who passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cecil Roy and Melba Lorine Hensley Burnett; his wife Sarah Selman Burnett; his children, Sarah Lee Wilkerson (Whitney) of Ripley, Lisa Marie Metlock (Corey) of Angel Fire, NM and David Burnett, Jr. (Rachel) of Ripley; his siblings, Virginia Huddleston of Empire, AL, Charlotte Pickett of Dora, AL, Tina Poore of Dora, AL, Lee Burnett (Judy) of Ripley, Gary Burnett (Samantha) of Ripley and Carl Wayne Burnett of Jasper, AL; his grandchildren, Nicholas Smith (Traylee), David Burnett III, Braden Eli Burnett, Cecilia Burnett, Lana Rose Jackson, Lily Jo Jackson and Caitlyn Wilkerson; his great grandchildren, Luna, Curtis Smith and Kya Wilkerson; and his brothers, Lonnie Burnett and Albert Burnett of Ripley.

He was employed as a Foundation Repair Specialist for 50 years and was also employed as a mechanic for UPS for the last three years.
