Though Vertie Leo may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Vertie Leo touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wesley Berry and Zelar Williams Berry; and his grandmother Susan Grimes Williams (Leo). He is survived by: his son Vertie; his brother Herman; and his children, Gregory Leo Berry and Hannah Berry Gay. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
