He is survived by: his mother Alice Dunn Townsend; his wife Jan Childress Townsend of Water Valley; his sons, Paul Sherrod, Townsend, IV (Valerie) of Indianola and Rodney Jason Townsend of Henderson, Nevada; his granddaughter Mollie Neal Townsend; and his brother Huey Townsend.
