She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Ard and Agnes Mills Ard; her husband Gary Smith; and her siblings, Jack Ard, Towner Ard and Alma Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Jonathan Smith (Amy) of Maben, MS and Jamie Mabile (Landon) of Gautier, MS; her siblings, Vernon Ard of Pensacola, FL, Charlie Ard (Dola) of Clara, MS and Carolyn Walker of Waynesboro, MS; and her grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Julia Griffin (Trae), Levi Mabile, Josie Mabile, Morgan Roberts and Kelsey Edwards (Alan). She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home (1305 Skyland Dr, Waynesboro, MS 39367). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church (1774 Camp 8 Rd, Richton, MS 39476). A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the Salem Cemetery (907 Strickland Rd, Richton, MS 39476).
