It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelda Janis Slaton of Richton, Mississippi, born in Waynesboro, Mississippi, who passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester H. Douglas and Elsie Douglas; her stepson Danny Slaton; her siblings, Earnest Douglas, C. H. Douglas, Delbert Henderson, Bilbo "Jiggs" Henderson and Sylvia Rager; her grandsons, Justin Roberts and A. J. Winstead; and her great grandchild Colton Daniels.
She is survived by: her husband Billy Ray Slaton of Richton, MS; her children, Steve Roberts (Judy) of Mannford, OK, Michael Roberts (Heather) of Waynesboro, MS, Randy Roberts (Butet) of Runnelstown, MS, Carla McDonald (David) of Richton, MS and Rita Roberts Partin of Sulphur, LA; and her stepdaughters, Debbie Barnett of Laurel, MS and Lisa Ishee of Laurel, MS.
