Jonathan was raised in the Rawls Springs Community where he was a member of and baptized in Rawls Springs Baptist Church. He attended Rawls Springs Elementary School and North Forrest High School. He completed and graduated from Camp Shelby's Youth Challenge. He was a graduate of Jones Community Junior College and later attended William Carey University.
Jonathan was married to his loving wife, Freida, for 21 years. While raising their sons in Richton, MS, Jonathan worked at Hattiesburg High School as an Assistant Baseball Coach, for the Perry County School District as a school bus drive, and later for the county as a Dozier Operator.
Jonathan had a kind and giving spirit. He was always excited to talk with "everyone" and "never met a stranger". He had strong passions for reading and learning, Labradors, and especially, his sport teams; LSU Football & Baseball, the Chicago Cubs, and the Pittsburg Steelers. He was a "proud" man which helped him defy his struggle along with the help of the "holy spirit". His pride was easy to witness when he spoke of his "boys". His love for his wife and his sons was limitless and unconditional.
He will be forever missed by his family, but his spirit will live through his sons and through his "good woman", Freida. The family is especially thankful for the "strong love" his wife gave him during his "time of need".
