He is survived by: his wife Imogene Herring of Richton; his children, Darrell Herring of Richton, Mitchell Herring (Penny) of Richton and Belinda Patterson (Tony) of Sumrall; and his siblings, Sue Shoemaker of Beaumont, Una Mae Steele (Robert) of Beaumont, Leena Ruth Hall of Beaumont, Avil Herring (Kathy) of Beaumont and Lauris Herring of Ovett. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
