He was predeceased by: his former wife Carolyn Holmes; and his siblings, Jesse Holmes and Jeanette Breau. He is survived by: his friend Jerry West; his wife Jolene Wanda Holmes; his partner's children, Angela Thorp, Christi Holmes and Leesa Short; his grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Jonathan, Starling and Laura; and his great grandchildren, Levi, Elayna, Barrett, Wyatt, Madox, Becki, Logan, Landon, Perrin, Evie and Kaylee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Richton.
