He is survived by: his wife Christine Shyreen Wheeler of Morton, MS; his mother Patricia Rowell Waller of Philadelphia, MS; his children, Meghan Wheeler of Morton, MS and Stephen Wheeler (Destiny) of Portland, OR; his stepchildren, David Martin of Lena, MS, DeAnna Bennett of Carthage, MS, Andrew Bennett of Lena, MS and Margie Jones (Robbie) of Bentonia, MS; and his brothers, Michael Wheeler of Morton, MS and John Thrash of North Carolina. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
