It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Elizabeth Nelson of Raleigh, Mississippi, born in Forest, Mississippi, who passed away on March 27, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel Nelson; her son Samuel Nelson, Jr.; her parents, F. E. Sorey and Laura E. Monroe Sorey; and her siblings, Monroe Sorey, Richard Sorey, Clark Sorey, Lillie Merritt, Blanche Harvey, Nola Blackwell, Alla Haden, Myrna Hellen Jones and Mary Ruth Eichelberger.
She is survived by: her children, Alfred Nelson (Madeline), David Nelson (Tamra), Daniel Nelson (Marcy) and Nancy Schaub (Leo). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
