It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Edward Fortenberry of Raleigh, Mississippi, who passed away on September 18, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Maurine Pugh Fortenberry; and his parents, Rufus Cleveland Fortenberry and Ruth McWilliams Fortenberry. He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Mason, Velma Elizabeth Bullock, Carolyn Dunigan (Ronald) and Janice Rummel. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
