It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine Thornton of Raleigh, Mississippi, born in Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband R. O. Thornton; her parents, Oscar Montgomery and Alice Polk Smith; her siblings, Orlon Montgomery, Catherine Clark, Betty Scott and Mary Jo Williams; and her granddaughter Jessica Lee.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Thornton (Marie), Roy Thornton, Sheri Shelden (Mike) and Susan Moore (Terry); and her siblings, Oscar Montgomery Jr., Lucille Davis and Rachel Baygent. She is also survived by Eight Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
