He was predeceased by: his stepfather David Poole; his brothers, James Henry Simmons (Jim), Huey Simmons, Roy Coleman Simmons, Jesse Simmons, Larry, Jerry Simmons, Paul Simmons, David Poole (Dave) and Henry Oscar Simmons Jr. (Ott); his grandparents, Oscar and Jewel Simmons; his parent Lorene Simmons; and his close friend Cecil Walley.
He is survived by: his parent Alma Lorene Poole of Denham Springs, LA; his siblings, John Simmons, Mark Simmons, Barbara Poole Carlton, Doug Poole (Mary) and Robert Poole (Bob); his daughters, Jennifer (Ivan McNelly) and Misty (Ryan Armstrong); his grandchildren, Aubry Penton, Izzy Penton, Lindsey McNelly, Michael Armstrong, Ian McNelly and Alexis Armstrong; and his wife Sarah Cooper.
